What size are your printed greeting cards?

Our printed greeting cards are 5 x 7 inches and we use folded premium quality greeting card stock to make sure your unique design arrives looking its best.

How much are your cards?

With Cleverbug, your very first card is free! You only pay the price of a stamp to mail the card.
Thereafter, all Cleverbug cards $2.99 / £2.99 / €3.45 + mailing.

How much are your eCards?

Our eCards are absolutely FREE! What's even better is that you can send them through Facebook, Twitter, Email and even SMS.

How do I personalize a card?

This is where Cleverbug gets really clever... When you browse the cards in your store you'll see that every single one is already personalized for you using your friend's photos - and the message on the inside is also ready to go! However, it's also very easy to change the photos and message after you've selected a card from your store. Simply tap the relevant photos or lines of text to change them.

Can I use photos that are not on Facebook?

Yes. Just select a card and then tap the photo you want to replace. Tap ‘Change photo’ and you’ll be given the option to pick an alternative photo from Facebook, choose a photo from elsewhere or take a new photo and insert it into the card straight away.

Can I send cards abroad?

Yes - we can mail your card to anywhere in the world. Just select the destination country from the dropdown list when entering the shipping details.

Can I send cards to someone other than myself?

Yes. You can send your card directly to the birthday boy or girl by choosing this option on the ‘Send’ page. If they're an existing contact you'll be able to pick them from a list; otherwise you can enter their address by creating a new recipient when prompted.

Can I get a blank envelope with my card?

Yes. If you choose to have the card sent back to you it will arrive in an outer envelope with a blank envelope inside, so you can either send on the card or deliver it by hand.

Can I send a card to someone who hasn’t put their birthday on Facebook?

Yes. If they’re on Facebook but haven’t entered their birthday, they’ll appear at the bottom of your list of upcoming birthdays. The easiest way to find them is to search for their name in the search box at the top of the upcoming birthdays list. Then, just click on their name and make a card as usual.

Can I send a card to someone who isn’t on Facebook?

We do have plans to add this functionality to Cleverbug for future releases but there isn’t a specific option for this at the moment.
However, you can work around this by choosing one of your Facebook friends and then uploading your own photo and changing the name.

What payment options can I use?

We accept payment via Paypal or a debit/credit card. If you choose to pay with Paypal, you can either pay securely with your normal Paypal account or register for free using the link provided. If you'd like to pay with a debit/credit card, simply securely enter your payment details when prompted at the checkout.

When will my order be activated?

Your order will be activated on the day it is placed.

How long will my card take to arrive?

It depends on where you’re sending it. Here are the estimated delivery times for birthday cards to different regions of the world.

  • US: 2-5 days
  • UK: 3-5 days
  • Western Europe: 5-7 days
  • Rest of Europe: 5-10 days
  • Rest of world: 7-10 days

My eCard did not post to my friend's Facebook timeline. Why did this not happen?

There are 3 reasons as to why your eCard may not have posted to your friend's timeline. 

  1. You may not have checked the box beside: 'Post a picture of the card on Facebook on Joanna's birthday' on the address screen.
  2. When logging in with your Facebook account to the Cleverbug app, under sharing permissions, you may not have selected  FriendsFriends of Friends or Public, to ensure that the cards will be posted to your friend's timeline. To change the settings you have given for the Cleverbug app, open your Facebook account and go to:  Privacy Settings > Apps > Cleverbug Cards > Edit.
  3. Your friend may have “Timeline review” enabled, which means he or she has to approve your post before it appears on their timeline.

Your card will post successfully to your friend's wall on the day of their birthday at 8.30am local time if the guidelines above are followed. If you are experiencing any issues, please do not hesitate to contact  maria@cleverbug.com

I’ve noticed a mistake! Can I change my order?

If you contact us soon as you can after you place your order we may be able to edit the details for you. Most orders placed get sent directly to our printers but we will assist you as best we can to make any change that you need. Please contact Maria on maria@cleverbug.com and we will do our best to help.

My card still hasn’t arrived

We're sorry to hear that. If your card has not arrived within the time period set out above, please contact Maria on maria@cleverbug.com with your order number. We will check your order and either resend it or refund you.

We would always advise sending your card that little bit earlier if you can to make sure it reaches its destination before that special date!

My card has arrived and is incorrect

We're very sorry to hear that. Please email Maria at maria@cleverbug.com with your order number and we will have your order reshipped to you ASAP or we can provide you with a refund.

Why isn’t my friend appearing in my list of upcoming birthdays?

If your friend is on Facebook, they may not have made their birthday public. You can still find them by entering their name into the search box at the top of the upcoming birthdays list. Then, just click on their name and make a card as usual.
If they’re not on Facebook, you can currently only make a card for them by choosing one of your Facebook friends and then changing the photos and name. We are planning to offer a specific option for making cards for your non-Facebook friends in a future version though, so stay tuned!

Why am I having payment problems?

Your payment details may be incorrect. If you receive an error message on screen after a short wait, try and enter your card details again, making sure you check everything correctly. It’s often easy to enter a wrong CV2 / security code or expiry date. If you still have no luck, contact our customer care guru Maria on maria@cleverbug.com and we’ll assist you.

Alternatively, there may have been a timeout error. If the page is stuck on ‘processing payment’ and nothing is happening it may be that the payment has failed due to a time-out error. This is when your browser drops the connection during your payment, and does not give the payment page enough time to process the transaction. You will receive an order confirmation once the payment has been processed.

The app is crashing. What should I do?

The best way to have the app up and running again in no time is to delete it from your mobile device and then reinstall it from the iTunes App Store.

To delete the app, hold down one of the app icons until they start to vibrate and a little black x appears in the top left corner of every app. Tap on the x of Cleverbug to remove it from your phone. Then go to the app store and install the Cleverbug app again. You will be prompted to type in your Apple ID password when you re-install the app.

Why are the cards taking so long to load?

Our app requires a good internet connection speed to display all the cool features at their best quality. If you are not connected to your 3G or to a strong Wifi network, the cards will take longer to load.

Why do you require me to login with Facebook?

Quite simply, our app won’t work without it! We’ve designed Cleverbug to be a quick and easy way of sending birthday cards to your friends - which is why all our cards are automatically personalized and ready-to-go - and we do this via Facebook. 
By using Facebook, we can fill our card designs with your friend’s name and photos, show you relevant cards that relate to your friend’s gender and age, and let you know which of your friends have birthdays coming up. 

Are my personal details secure?

Your privacy is extremely important to us and we have a detailed privacy policy, which you can read here.

Is the app available for Android?

Right now the Cleverbug app is only available for iOS devices: the iPhone, the iPad or the iPod Touch.

We're planning to make an Android version so that everyone can send cool cards from their mobile - stay tuned!
